Our Approach

At Rise, our educational approach is child-led. Our teachers spend time with their students and, from there, plan activities, experiences, and group time centered around topics that interest the children. Child-led learning is essential in fostering a positive, empowering, and effective learning experience. It allows us to respect each child’s individuality, promotes engagement, and builds essential life skills such as problem-solving, creativity, and emotional intelligence. By giving children the freedom to lead their learning, educators help them become confident, motivated, and curious lifelong learners.

You will find the focus in our classrooms is on exploration, personal expression, and social interaction. The earliest years of education are crucial for helping children form secure attachments to trusted caregivers and develop budding social skills that will serve them throughout life. At Rise, we emphasize providing a play-based learning environment. This includes a rotation of open-ended materials and activities that engage children in hands-on, child-centered play.

The teacher’s role is vital in creating an environment where learning naturally occurs through exploration, play, and social interactions. While children are the primary drivers of their learning, the teacher supports, guides, and enriches their experiences. At this age, it is important to establish a predictable schedule, which allows teachers to guide children through transitions as needed. Teachers will also model self-help skills to foster independence and build self-esteem.

A play-based curriculum helps children build the foundational skills they need for lifelong learning in an environment that feels safe, welcoming, and joyful. It focuses on the whole child—intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically—making it a holistic approach to early education.
